FACE-UP FAST Backstroke Award - Swim the List

Swimming Challenges: Everyone is eligible to earn the awards listed below. There are no age requirements. You do not have to be a member of B-T Aquatics or any swim team. Children and adults are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Seven Seas Endurance Challenge, Captain's License, and Walk the Plank testing and certificates are free - swimmers are subject to regular open swim admission fee. There is a $10 fee for the Mutual of Omaha B-T 500 to receive the medal and t-shirt. Earn them all! Contact the pool to schedule your tests.

Attention Parents: These tests are fun, challenging, and rewarding to do and are good tools for you to assess your child's swimming ability. However, it is important to remember that a certificate hanging on the wall won’t keep your child safe. Children require constant supervision in and around the water, and you need to reassess swimming ability every time your child enters the water.

Competitive Awards: B-T Aquatics is proud to recognize excellence in competitive swimming. All Midwestern Swimming, Inc. registered swimmers are eligible for the awards listed below.

Walk the Plank

SURVIVAL CHALLENGE

Test: Fully clothed - Jump into the pool from the 1-meter board, recover to a back float, swim to edge, exit the pool unassisted.

Award: Certificate

ENDURANCE CHALLENGE

Test: Complete a 200-yard swim consisting of 100 yards of continuous crawl stroke - showing strength and endurace - followed by 100 yards of continuous backstroke demonstrating lifesaving endurance.

Award: Certificate

Captain’s License

STROKE PROFICIENCY TEST

Test: Complete a 100-yard swim consisting of 25 yards each of fly, back, breast, and crawl strokes.

Award: Certificate

Fee: Free! Contact the pool to schedule your test.

Test: 200-yard Freestyle + 200-yard Backstroke + 100-yard Individual Medley -- under twelve minutes.

Award: T-Shirt, medal, name on B-T 500 Web Page

Fee: $10 - Contact the pool to schedule your test. (If you bring a group of six or more participants we'll treat you to pizza!

FACE-UP FAST Backstroke Award

Award: Presented for the fastest 100 yard backstroke performances of the Short Course season.

BIRTHDAY SWIM

Happy Birthday to You! Celebrate with a Birthday Swim.

Everyone is eligible for this one. Your birthday is a special time to celebrate the gift of "you" to the world. Because maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had, and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated, birthdays are also a good time to challenge yourself.
