ANIMAL LANES at B-T Aquatics
"As
any swimmer or coach knows, pools across the country are full of
swimmers who give their all, workout after workout, showing extreme
endurance and mental fortitude even though they may never become stars
in competition. Yet, these workout animals are an inspiration to their
teammates and raise the level of performance and dedication for everyone
in the pool." Read more about the Legendary Animal Lanes:
A Breed Apart: The Toughest of the Tough
What
is the B-T Aquatics Animal Lane Program? A
super-charged fitness program that's not so much about learning the swim
team skills, but more about putting those skills to use in some tough
workout sets.
Who may participate?
Swimmers ages 5 through 18 who want to participate in a physically
challenging swimming practice. Practices are customized for
individual fitness levels. Anyone who qualified for Voyagers is
skilled enough for the Animal Lane program. Even so, if you aren't sure if you
belong in this group, you don't belong in this group.
These are tough practices!
How much is this fun
challenge and how do I sign up? Three dollars per
practice, and you don't sign up. Just drop in.

"Being your best is not so much
about overcoming the barriers other people place in front of you as it
is about overcoming the barriers we place in front of ourselves. It has
nothing to do with how many times you win or lose. It has no relation to
where you finish in a race or whether you break world records. But it
does have everything to do with having the vision to dream, the courage
to recover from adversity and the determination never to be shifted from
your goals." -Kieren Perkins
Kieren Perkins is a former Australian professional swimmer. One
of the world's best-ever long distance swimmers, he won two Olympic gold
medals in 1992 and 1996 in the 1500-meter freestyle, and a silver medal
in 2000.
