
The
mission of the B-T Voyager Program is to strengthen individual
confidence, skill, and stamina to prepare swimmers to participate in
competitive swimming events.
Prerequisites:

Minimum
age 5
-
Demonstrate the ability to complete a
continuous 50 yard swim consisting of 25 yards of backstroke and 25
yards of crawl stroke with rotary or roll-to-back breathing.
(Lifting the head to breathe disqualifies a swimmer from
participating in the Voyager Program.)

Demonstrate a desire to participate in the Voyager program by following
coaches' instructions.

Voyagers are required to provide and wear
cap and goggles for each practice.

Swimmers may stop in at the pool during any Open Swim to demonstrate their
swimming skills and receive a Voyager Readiness
certificate.
Structure:
-
Voyager
practices are 45 minutes long.

Coach to
Swimmer Ratio is 1:12.
-
Swimmers
may choose to participate only once per week during a voyage or up to as many as
five times per week.

Practices
consist of a combination of skill work and conditioning swims.

Voyagers
are encouraged to participate in our B-T Splash Meets and in area USA Swimming
