The mission of the B-T Voyager Program is to strengthen individual confidence, skill, and stamina to prepare swimmers to participate in competitive swimming events.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 5

  • Demonstrate the ability to complete a continuous 50 yard swim consisting of 25 yards of backstroke and 25 yards of crawl stroke with rotary or roll-to-back breathing.  (Lifting the head to breathe disqualifies a swimmer from participating in the Voyager Program.)

  • Demonstrate a desire to participate in the Voyager program by following coaches' instructions.

  • Voyagers are required to provide and wear cap and goggles for each practice.

Not sure?

Swimmers may stop in at the pool during any Open Swim to demonstrate their swimming skills and receive a Voyager Readiness certificate.

Structure:

  • Voyager practices are 45 minutes long.

  • Coach to Swimmer Ratio is 1:12.

  • Swimmers may choose to participate only once per week during a voyage or up to as many as five times per week.

  • Practices consist of a combination of skill work and conditioning swims.

  • Voyagers are encouraged to participate in our B-T Splash Meets and in area USA Swimming sanctioned meets. Competition Page
