B-T Aquatics Pool Rules
The
primary task of lifeguards is to provide for the safety and comfort of
patrons using the pool. Please do
not attempt to chat with lifeguards while they are on duty.
In case of an emergency, notify
the nearest lifeguard and follow instructions.
Lifeguards on duty have the
authority to prohibit activities which, in their judgment, may be
dangerous or interfere with others’ enjoyment of the pool and its
facilities.
Any person having a communicable disease, open blisters or cuts,
sore or inflamed eyes, ears, nose or mouth infections, excessive sunburn
or any type of skin disease will be excluded from the pool area.
CHILDREN AT FAMILY SWIM: Children under 12 years shall be
supervised by an adult who shall not leave the child unattended at any
time. This adult must be in the water within arms reach of the
non-swimmer at all times. Parents, please do not drop off your under-twelve children without
required supervision.
B-T Aquatics is NOT equipped to supervise children before
or after swimming. Please do not drop off children before posted
start times, and please be here to pick up children when Family Swim
ends.
All bathers, including babies, must wear bathing suits. Children
who are not yet toilet trained shall wear swim diapers.
Food and drink are restricted to the pool hallways and the gallery.
Water in non-glass containers is permitted on deck.
Diving is permitted only in designated areas:
-
Only one person as a time shall be permitted on diving board/ladder.
-
Divers shall not dive until the previous diver has cleared the
landing area.
-
Diving shall not be permitted from the side of the diving board
-
Everyone using the diving board must swim to
exit ladder unassisted. "Catching" and assisting swimmers going off
the board is not permitted.
A swim test may be required to
demonstrate swimming proficiency.
-
Excessive bouncing on boards is prohibited.
-
Running dives from the deck are prohibited.
Conduct affecting the safety or comfort of
others shall not be permitted.
Running in the pool area is prohibited.
Properly fitted goggles are permitted.
Face masks covering the eyes and nose are not permitted for Open Swim or
PE classes. (See the Aquatics Director to schedule time to
practice snorkeling.)
Flotation devices of any kind, inflatable
toys, and rafts may be used
only by swimmers who are able to swim independently. A
swim test may be required to demonstrate swimming proficiency.
Toys and rafts are permitted in the pool at
the discretion the lifeguard on duty. Pool staff are authorized to
prohibit toys which, in their judgment, pose potential safety hazards or
interfere with others enjoyment of the pool. Squirt guns and water guns
of any kind are not permitted.
SWIMMING INSTRUCTION: B-T Aquatics is the home of the
Pool Pirates Swim School. We have an excellent learn-to-swim
program. We do not allow anyone else to teach swimming in our
pool. However, the pool is available for rent to be used for
instruction and coaching for anything not provided by B-T Aquatics
(SCUBA instruction, synchronized swimming, water aerobics, diving,
kayaking, etc.).
LOCKER ROOM ETIQUETTE:
We prefer
that children over the age of four use the appropriate-gender locker
room or our hallway changing booths. Parents, please be
considerate of other users when escorting your young child into an
opposite-sex locker room to use the restroom or shower. The locker
rooms are often crowded, and at no time are appropriate places for
horseplay. Our locker rooms are designed as group changing and
shower areas. Sometimes patrons prefer to change in the restroom
stalls. However, priority for the use of these stalls must be
given to those needing to use the toilets. Check your bags before
you leave. Toiletries, hair grooming items and accessories, and
socks/underwear are treated as trash at the end of the day, not as Lost
& Found items.
