Swimming & Grade School Meet, Entry Deadline: September TBA, 2010
Who:
Students, Grades K through 6, from all invited schools - B-T, Dundee, Harrison, St. Margaret Mary, St. Pius/St. Leo
What:
One swim team practice and one meet. Swimmers will practice stroke techniques and racing skills for the backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly events. Each swimmer may enter up to three individual events in the meet. In addition, each school may enter relays in each division. Relay swimmers will be determined by the B-T coaching staff.
When:
Practice session will be September TBA, 2010
The Grade School Meet will be held on September ??, 2010.
Cost:
$15.00 per swimmer - includes practice session, swim meet, ribbons, team trophies, swim cap, post-meet pizza and soda after the meet..
Awards:
Swim Caps for all participants, ribbons for all participants in all events, a trophy for each school. Caps and ribbons will be distributed at the meet. Trophies will be delivered to the schools.
Registration Procedure:
Complete registration form, attach check and return to Brownell-Talbot Pool. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted on their front and on their back to participate. There will be a swimming test at the practice. Swimmers who cannot swim 25 yards unassisted will be charged a $5.00 administrative fee and the $10.00 balance of the entry fee will be returned. Registration deadline is Wednesday, September ??. We will not accept late registrations. There will be no event-day registration, and there will be no waiting list. Entries will close when we receive the 32 entries in a division. Caps will be distributed at the swim team practice.
Participation is limited to the first 35 swimmers in each of the following
divisions: K, 1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade

K - 2 Highlights: Sofia "The Shark" Thibodeau scored twelve points for B-T. Maggie "The Missle" Churilla won all three of her events. "Chargin' Charlie" Pugsley set a new meet record in the Kindergarten Boys 25 Yard Backstroke. Isabela "Torpedo" Thibodeau swam a very fast 25 back and scored ten points for the B-T Raiders. Bailey "Blazing Barracuda" DiNucci set a new meet record for 1st grade girls in the 25 yard freestyle. Kerry "Crusher" McFadden scored eleven points for the Raiders and had a fantastic time in the butterfly. "Lightning Libby" Vinckier had three great times in her first meet. Will "Rocket" Randby won all three of his events including the 25 fly. Madison "The Mermaid" Scott turned in fast times in all three events and scored eleven points for B-T. Victoria " The Vanquisher" Bernhart won all three of her events and scored eighteen points for St. Margaret Mary. Betsy "Fireball" Fox scored ten points for Dundee and turned in a super-fast time in the backstroke event. John "Magic Man" McElderry turned in some blazing fast times from lane one. Will "Wildfire" Scheopner scored twelve points for Dundee and had an especially fast backstroke time. Shivam "Ace" Agarwal won all three of his events and helped out B-T with his eighteen points.
3rd - 6th Highlights: Ruth "Speed Racer" Hailu set yet another meet record in her third Grade School Meet. "Ragin' Rachel" Hall won the 25 backstroke and scored ten points for the Raiders. Lillie "Lou" Ahlgren turned in a fantastic time in the backstroke and scored ten points for St. Margaret Mary. "Jammin Jace" Guerra won all three of his events and earned 18 points for Dundee Elementary. Julia "Flying Fish" Fiksinski won the 4th grade girls 25 back and passed her "Walk the Plank" challenge. Cheyenne "The Conquerer" Hanson won two events and scored sixteen points for B-T. Vandana "Angelfish" Agarwala scored nine points for the B-T team and passed her "Walk the Plank" challenge. "Mighty Maya" Arthur won all three of her events and scored 18 points for B-T. John "The Intimidator" Eckert set a meet record in the 6th grade backstroke with a great start and a blazing time of 19.22. Jimmy "F4" Ahlgren set a meet record in the 25 butterfly and scored 13 points for St. Margaret Mary. David "Davy Crockett" Carlson set a new meet record in the 6th grade freestyle with a great time of 15.76. "Captain Chad" Beutel put six points on the board for Dundee and had great times in all three events.
