Children & Adults (3 &
Up)
Classes
are open to everyone ages three and up who demonstrates a willingness to learn
how to swim. The program focuses on first achieving relaxed, face-up
aquatic balance - a back float. This is the safest and most effective way to learn to
swim. Once the Face-Up Firsts have
been mastered swimmers move on to develop competitive/fitness swimming strokes. We
teach efficient stroke mechanics from the very first practice.
Infants & Toddlers (2 & Under)
We teach infants and toddlers to float in a
relaxed face-up position; and to be able to recover to this position after
rolling to their stomachs or after jumping or falling into the water.
After achieving balanced floating, Toddlers move on to propulsive movements
starting with the Tadpole
stroke.
Competitive (5 & Up)
The Competitive Program
is open to swimmers ages 5 and older who demonstrate the ability to swim 25
yards of reach-and-roll freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke. Swimmers in
this program work on strengthening individual strength, skill, and stamina to
prepare to participate in competitive swimming events.
