CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Central Zone 14&Under Open Water Championships:  Midwestern Swimming, Inc. is hosting the Central Zone 14&U Open Water Championships on Monday, August 9 at Branched Oak Lake.  We are expecting approximately 150 swimmers from 13 states.  B-T is helping to run this event and we are looking for volunteers - no experience necessary.  We need people to monitor the course from boats, work the registration table, help with timing, and even officiating.  We'll teach you everything you need to know.  Open Water Swimming is exciting to watch and this will be a fun morning at the lake.  We also need many more course patrol watercraft.  We are looking for small power boats, kayaks, canoes, and jet skis.  A pontoon boat or two would also be very helpful.  I know it's a lot to ask on a weekday, but we want to provide the best possible competitive event at Nebraska's first-ever USA Swimming Sanctioned Open Water event.  If you would like to help at the event, please contact Coach Jeanie Neal at aquatics@brownell.edu or 402.505.2438

B-T AQUATICS NEWS

AQUA DOGS 2nd Annual Swim for the Animals Swim Meet, August 14:  "Swim for the Animals" and help the AQUA DOGS reach their 2010 fundraising goal.  The AQUA DOGS are a group of young swimmers (14 & 15 years old) that are putting their swimming talents to use to benefit the Nebraska Humane Society.  Entry fees and donations for this meet are tax deductible and will be donated to the NHS during the Walk for the Animals event on September 26, 2010.  Everyone is eligible for this one!  2010 Aqua Dogs Meet Information
