What is it?
It’s an Internet Distance Meet!
An Internet Meet is a long distance
swimming competition conducted in multiple locations and which
the results are transmitted to and compiled in a central
location. Generally, swimmers complete in these events in their
home pool or training facility during practice times or other
specified times and then email or mail the results to the meet
director or designee for tabulation and posting of online
results.
DATES:
August 1 through August 31
- You
must complete your swim during the month of August.
LOCATION:
Any 25-yard pool.

A swimmer may complete two events within a single swim by using
the time for an intermediate distance.
For example, and 18-year-old swimmer may post times for
the 3000 yard freestyle (intermediate split) and the 5000 yard
freestyle (final time) in a single swim, and a 10-year-old may
compete in both the 1000 and the 3000 yard events.

DEADLINE TO ENTER:
September 10
OFFICIALS:
The starter should be an adult (certified officials are not
required). There must be a counter/timer for each swimmer.
Timers should record CUMULATIVE splits for every 50
yards. Don’t panic
if a timer misses a split – just write “missed” in the space for
that distance. The
purpose of the splits is to verify the count and insure that
swimmers complete the entire distance.
FEES:
$4.00 per event PLUS
$2.00 per swimmer
The $2.00 per swimmer surcharge will be donated to Midwestern
Swimming, Inc. to support local age group swimmers.
AWARDS:
Swimmers will receive a custom event medal and a meet
certificate for every event
entered. We will
order the medals after the September 10 entry deadline.
It takes a couple weeks to get them here.
Medals should be available for pickup at the
Brownell-Talbot School Theisen Pool by October 1.
We would appreciate it if swimmers in the Omaha area
would pick up their medals at the pool.
We will mail awards to any entrants from out of town.

Results will be posted on this page.
